Viberts’ Personal Law Department deal with issues that affect every day life in a compassionate, knowledgeable and pragmatic way. Within this Department we have specialist teams dealing with employment law, personal injury claims and wills and probate matters.
Our employment team deal with both contentious and non-contentious matters and advise both local and international employers on all aspects of employment law ranging from compromise agreements to employment tribunal claims. Our team also offers a comprehensive service to employees who require clear and practical advice.
A comprehensive training and a review service are also available in order to ensure that our client’s procedures, policies, contracts and handbooks are compliant with local employment law.
Our team is supported by Partner and Advocate David Le Quesne who is the Chairman of the Jersey Employment Tribunal and we are members of the UK Employment Lawyers Association.
The Personal Injury Team deal with all personal injury claims for the largest Trade Union in Jersey and accordingly have an unrivalled breadth and depth of knowledge in this field. Whether it is bullying/stress you are suffering from, or an industrial or road traffic accident, our team have the expertise to assist you.
We are members of the Jersey Personal Injury Medicolegal Society (JPIMS) and the Association for Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).
We provide full will drafting and executorship services for both Jersey residents and foreign residents with assets in the island. We can provide curatorship services for those legally incapable of looking after their own affairs, or attorney services for the elderly.
We regularly provide advice for private individuals about local inheritance law, succession rights, or the validity of an existing will. We also act for and against charities where there is a dispute after they have been bequeathed a gift in a will.
