Charities litigation

Charities are frequently the beneficiaries of wills. Not infrequently the gifts to them provoke litigation from the next of kin of the deceased, who feel dispossessed by the terms of the will.

We have considerable experience of conducting such litigation, both in the interest of the charity and, on other occasions, in the interest of the next of kin. The litigation, which is of a specialised nature, has led to the development of a case law that reflects Jersey’s particular rules of inheritance.
