Kat Guillemot

Kat joined Viberts in December 2024.  She is an English Solicitor and Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution Team and has over 25 years of experience in private practice within the Jersey legal profession. With her broad knowledge and experience, she manages a varied caseload, with a particular focus on insolvency together with disputes arising in connection with Jersey trusts, contentious Wills and Estates actions, shareholder and commercial contractual disputes.

Kat strives to provides clear, strategic and pragmatic legal advice to both individual and corporate clients. She has a proven track record of successfully handling high-value and sensitive claims, advocating for clients in negotiations, mediation, and court proceedings including:

• Personal injury and clinical negligence claims of significant value, representing both Plaintiff and Defendant clients.
• Contentious Trust matters – acting on behalf of Trustees, Beneficiaries and in representing the Minors & Unborn Beneficiaries of a Trust.
• Shareholder Disputes – advising both shareholders and directors on areas of dispute that may arise.
• Insolvency Actions - including Desastre, Remise de Biens and Degrevement applications, representing Debtor and Creditor clients as well as professionally appointed Liquidators.
• Contentious Wills and Estates matters - including Legitime and Avance de Succession claims, Executorship disputes and applications seeking to challenge and/or vary a Will.
