Irene is a legal assistant at Viberts, who joined us shortly after completing her LLM in International Commercial and Maritime Law at the University of Exeter. Prior to this, she had completed her combined LLB/Maîtrise in European Law at Exeter and the University of Rennes.
Irene is fluent in English, French, German and Dutch; having been born in Vienna, she grew up in Brussels and studied for her A-levels at Roedean.
Irene works in the property team, with a particular focus on share transfer sales and purchases, as well as other transactions involving the sale of companies.
She also prepares loan documentation in respect of residential mortgages or equity releases, including freehold, flying freehold, leasehold or share transfer properties.
Irene is able to assist with drafting leases (both residential and commercial) and share-vending agreements. Given her fluency in French, Irene’s role also includes general conveyancing matters, including drafting contracts, researches, title checks and site visits.
Irene is very familiar with probate and the administration of estates and also assists our Personal Law Department with such matters.
To further her training, Irene completed her Legal Practice Course in July 2019 at the University of Law (Guildford) in which she achieved a distinction. She now is about to start her period of recognised training to become an English Solicitor.
Outside of work Irene enjoys skiing, sailing and learning Mandarin.
