We are offering a great opportunity to join a highly regarded Employment practice, advising a broad range of local and international clients on all aspects of Jersey employment, discrimination and data protection law, working as part of a collaborative and highly regarded team.
We are looking for a talented lawyer who wants to help continue to build this practice, working alongside Partners and other colleagues on a range of fascinating and complex matters.
This role is ideal for a lawyer with previous experience in employment and discrimination law and/or a keen interest in this area.
Key responsibilities
- You will advise employers and senior executives on a wide variety of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including:
- Employment contracts, policies and procedures
- Disciplinary and grievance matters
- Performance management and workplace investigations
- Redundancies, restructurings and business transfers
- Discrimination and employee relations issues
- Compromise agreements
- Employment and Discrimination Tribunal proceedings
- Regulatory and data protection issues affecting the workplace
- You will also have opportunities to contribute to business development, client training, thought leadership and the continued growth of the practice.
Qualifications and experience
- Qualified lawyer
- Strong technical knowledge and excellent drafting skills
- Experience managing files independently while working collaboratively within a team
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills
- Commercial awareness and pragmatic problem-solving ability
- A proactive approach to business development and networking
- Admission in Jersey, England & Wales, or another recognised common law jurisdiction (or eligibility to practise in Jersey)
